What’s Love Got To Do With It!

Vintage Style St. Valentine's Day Card
To My Valentine, You’re Sweet, I Love You, Hug Me, Sweet Talk, Be Mine, Kiss Me. Remember all those messages on the Necco Sweetheart Candies? It was always fun to read the loving words. I didn’t like the candy very much though. LOL Now the messages are a bit different then they were from back in my day. You might read: Fax Me, Love You, All Star, It’s Love, My Way, Love Me and Awe Some just to name a few.
How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? A dinner out? A Card sent with Love? A movie at the theater? A Heart-Shaped box of Chocolates? A weekend away? Or just a nice quiet evening at home in front of the TV?
I’d love to hear about your most romantic Valentines Day. Post me a comment!
XOXOXO
Donna

Hello Melinda!
Thank you for reading the Quaint Essential Thymes! I’m so glad you enjoyed reading the pages : )
I remember passing out Valentines at school too. We’d make big envelope mailboxes as well and attach them to the back of our chair. You were so sweet to include everyone in on Valentine’s Day.
I’d love to see a sample of your home-made Valentine cards! Bring one by the next time you come to the shoppe!
Donna-I just love your blog-I went back and read every one on the last 2 pages. My favorite memories are of passing out valentines at school. We would decorate a box or a big heart shaped envelope with our names on it and hope our best buddies would remember us with an extra special valentine that might even have a red heart lollipop attached to it. The best part was choosing the valentines we would give to our best girlfriends and we would demurely pick one out for the boy (or two) we had our sights on and secretly slip that into his box or over sized envelope. I remember comparing how full the different “mailboxes” seemed and would worry if I noticed someone wasn’t getting their fair share. I would try to bring more than enough lollipops and extra blank cards so that no one was left out.Nowadays I like to make home made cards and I actually spent an afternoon recently with a dear old friend and that is what we did-make valentine cards for our grand and great-grand children- and it was wonderful!!
